Cherokee County’s Best BJJ Is 15 Minutes Away
Woodstock has become one of the fastest-growing cities in Georgia. Young families are moving into Cherokee County in droves, drawn by the schools, the neighborhoods, and the quality of life — but serious martial arts options within city limits remain limited. If you want instruction led by a legitimate 3rd Degree Black Belt with over 25 years of mat time, you have to look just south.
Warrior BJJ Academy sits in Kennesaw, right on Cobb Parkway, and I-575 connects you directly. Residents from the Towne Lake area, Eagle Watch, and downtown Woodstock are on our mats in roughly 15 minutes on a normal traffic day. That’s less time than most people spend deciding where to grab dinner.
The drive pays off in a way that closer options simply don’t. This is a full-curriculum academy — not a fitness gym that added a BJJ class to fill mat space. We run structured kids programs starting at age 4, a dedicated women’s program, adult fundamentals through advanced, MMA striking, and conditioning. Your whole household can train under one roof, with one coaching staff, at one proven school.

Who You’ll Learn From
Professor Vic Rosati
Head Instructor — 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt & USMC VeteranProfessor Vic Rosati holds a 3rd Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and brings more than 25 years of mat experience to every class he teaches. As a United States Marine Corps Veteran, he approaches instruction with the precision, discipline, and accountability that only comes from real-world standards — but pairs it with a genuine investment in each student’s personal growth. He founded Warrior BJJ Academy not just to teach technique, but to build character. For Woodstock families willing to make the short drive down I-575, Professor Vic represents a caliber of instruction that is genuinely rare in this part of Georgia.
“The best gym ever. Professor Vic Rosati is amazing and knows exactly what he’s talking about. I’ve trained here for 5 years and I can honestly say I’ve learned from the best.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Consistently, yes. Fifteen minutes on I-575 is a small investment when what you gain on the other end is instruction from a legitimate 3rd Degree Black Belt with 25-plus years of experience. Many of our Woodstock students initially hesitated about the commute and now consider it a non-issue — it’s part of the routine, and the quality of training makes it easy to stay motivated. There is currently no comparable program closer to Woodstock with this level of black belt instruction and full curriculum depth.
There are some fitness facilities and martial arts studios in and around Woodstock, but Cherokee County does not currently have a full-curriculum Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy led by a 3rd Degree Black Belt. Warrior BJJ Academy in Kennesaw is the closest serious BJJ school — with a complete program ladder from age 4 through adult, structured curriculum, and competition-ready coaching. If genuine BJJ is the goal, the short drive to Kennesaw is the right call.
Yes. Students who want to compete do so regularly, entering IBJJF-sanctioned events, local Georgia tournaments, and regional grappling competitions. Competition is entirely optional — many students train purely for fitness, self-defense, or personal development and never step on a tournament mat. Both paths are supported and respected here. Professor Vic prepares students who want to compete and champions those who simply want to grow.
Most adult evening classes run between 5:45 pm and 7:30 pm on weekday evenings, with specific sessions varying by day and format (Gi vs. No-Gi). There is also a Friday morning class for those with flexible schedules. We recommend visiting the full schedule page for the current timetable, as times are occasionally adjusted by season. If you’re commuting from Woodstock after work, the 6:30 pm sessions are popular entry points.
Absolutely. This is one of the most common reasons Woodstock families choose us despite the drive. We offer programs starting at age 4 with Future Warriors, structured youth classes for ages 8–14 in Junior Fundamentals, a dedicated Women’s Jiu-Jitsu Program, and multiple adult tracks through advanced levels. Families can structure their schedules so kids and parents are training on the same evenings — making the single commute work for the entire household at once.
