Why East Cobb Families Choose Warrior BJJ

Where Structured Training Meets Real Results

East Cobb is one of the most sought-after communities in metro Atlanta — exceptional schools, well-maintained neighborhoods, and parents who take their children’s development seriously. That same high standard extends to extracurricular activities. Families here aren’t looking for another participation-trophy sport. They want structured training that builds something lasting: confidence on the mat, discipline in the classroom, and the tools to handle real-world conflict without violence.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu delivers exactly that. Unlike striking arts, BJJ teaches children how to control a confrontation using leverage and technique rather than aggression. It’s among the most effective anti-bullying tools available — not because it makes kids more aggressive, but because it makes them less afraid. A child who knows they can handle themselves physically is far less likely to be targeted and far more likely to walk away with confidence intact.

We see it happen regularly: families drive from East Cobb to enroll a son or daughter in our Future Warriors or Junior Warriors program, and within a few months, one or both parents are training in the adult class themselves. BJJ has a way of pulling the whole family in — and we’re proud of the community that’s built around the mats here in Kennesaw.

Professor Vic Rosati

3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt — USMC Veteran — Head Instructor

Professor Vic has been training and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for more than two decades. His military background shapes everything about how he runs the academy — the discipline, the structure, and the deep respect for every person who walks through the door. Whether you’re a 4-year-old taking your first class or an adult stepping onto the mat for the first time, you’ll be taught by someone who takes your progress personally.

East Cobb families consistently note that what sets Professor Vic apart isn’t just his technical depth — it’s the fact that he knows every student by name, tracks their progress, and holds them to a standard worth reaching. That kind of coaching is rare, and it’s why so many families make the 15-minute drive from East Cobb week after week.

Common Questions

Questions from East Cobb Families

Everything you want to know before your first visit.

Karate and taekwondo are striking arts — they train punches and kicks in a controlled context. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art that focuses on taking an opponent to the ground and controlling them through leverage and technique rather than size or strength. For anti-bullying purposes, BJJ is especially effective because most physical altercations end up on the ground, and a child trained in BJJ will know exactly how to handle that situation safely and without throwing a single punch. It builds genuine self-defense capability alongside focus, humility, and resilience.

We encourage families to train together — it’s one of the best parts of what we do here. Contact us directly at (678) 365-0199 or warriorbjjacademy@gmail.com to discuss family training options and find an arrangement that works for your household.

We welcome children as young as 4 years old in our Future Warriors program, which is designed for ages 4–7 with an emphasis on listening skills, coordination, and fun mat time. Kids ages 8–14 move into our Junior Warriors program, where the curriculum becomes more structured and technique-focused. Both programs are taught by experienced coaches who understand how to connect with young students and build real skills without overwhelming them.

Yes. We have an open viewing area where parents are welcome to observe. Many East Cobb parents tell us they end up watching every class — and more than a few have eventually signed up themselves after seeing what their kids are learning. You’re always welcome to come early or stay after class to meet the coaching team and ask questions.

Safety is our absolute first priority. Our kids’ curriculum is age-appropriate and carefully structured — contact is introduced gradually and always under close coach supervision. We teach children how to fall safely, how to tap out (signal to stop), and how to be a good and respectful training partner. The vast majority of children who train with us encounter fewer injuries here than they do in team sports like soccer or football. Our experienced coaches are trained to match students appropriately and maintain a safe, positive environment on the mat at all times.
